Rug Hooking

[This was started back in 2019] I’ve been working on a fair bit of rug hooking lately. I should point out that, as a result, my loom feels neglected. But, since I’ve not worked on my loom in over a year, that’s unlikely. It was already neglected.

I had some initial “kits” that I purchased for rug hooking and then I attended the ATHA Biennial in August where I took three classes and really ended up with three more rugs to work on. I’ve finally worked my way through all those. They are edged and ready for life.

I’m back to the kits I bought and and down to the last two. The “moose” I finished this past week and I started on the poppies. Both Deanne Fitzpatrick kits. Then one more, and I’m on to my own design either off a bought pattern or my own creation. I’ll record those as they are in progress.

A lot of time passed. And then more time. No recording of progress happened.

Then. About four more years passed. A pandemic. A store. And now it’s 2024.

I closed the store and moved. And now, I guess, I’ll let the progress once again begin. A lot of rugs have happened and I don’t know if I’ll go back and document them all, but I’ll start with the latest one. And as I’ve unpacked my loom once again (it’s slightly less neglected) I’ll also be covering that. And knitting. So many projects. So little time.
